The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is thrilled to present furniture, lightning, and objects designed by students of Whatnot SAIC’s interdisciplinary Designed Object Program.
This year’s exhibition will take place at Wanted Design at ICFF: The international Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC on May 19-21, 2024.
The Whatnot Studio is facilitated through the External Partnerships Studio, which are funded, year-long classes offered by The Department of Designed Object at SAIC.
The Unique class gives students space and time to find their voice as an independent designer in a real world professional context.
Through rigorous research and investigation, students in the 2024 edition of Whatnot Studio focused on the word “Taste”, with an emphasis on conceptual restaurant design & furnishings.
The 23/24 Whatnot Studio was facilitated by SAIC Faculty, Tommy Walton and Ben Stagl
